The guy from before my Trinity

NB: Also read the title as “early influences” or “key differentiators”.

Variety is the spice of life.

Stacked one on top of the other, I have 3 parts of me – Islam, Vedanta and Christianity (read that as peace, knowledge and love). No part can survive without the others.

Vertically (or Longitudinally) I have 3 members of my Holy Trinity, viz:

Aurobindo – with his dream for this world and his part in Freeing India, contribution to the 2 world wars.
JRR Tolkien – who taught us what it was to be spiritual, not religious (not to mention his own contributions to the wars)
George Carlin – who taught us to SEE and then said that the only way to go on hoping is to say “Fuck Hope”.

And then there are my first two Teachers
Kahlil Gibran

  • Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you
  • You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
    Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Richard Bach – THE GUY FROM BEFORE – Author the Greatest story – Curious Lives

  • Imagine the universe beautiful and just and perfect. Then be sure of one thing: The Is has imagined it quite a bit better than you have.
  • Intuition whispers true, we’re not dust we’re magic

Lastly, and perhaps most greatly

The 3 Curators I had who kept showing me the best life had to offer – Pureblacklight, Chit and Vixen.
The 2 girls from before any girl started big-time messing with me.
The 3 children (2F, 1M) from before my extended family of 2 sons, and cosmic family began.
The 4 teachers (and the one missing) who I still call every year, even though now 8 years out of college.
Recently, the 6 mentors for Yield
